Dear Prospective Student:
Thank you for inquiring about Metro's training program. In order to gain entry into our school, you must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.. If you do not have either of these two documents, you can still gain entrance into our school by passing an Aptitude Test.
Our training programs are available to accomodate day, evening or Saturday schedules. 30% of the training program is theory of electronics, while 70% is hands-on training. There are 2 instructors per class, so Metro students are never overlooked or passed by.
While at Metro we will prepare you to take the M.E.C.P. exam which will certify you as an installer of auto sound, auto security, and wireless communications. The theory portion of our course is designed to ensure that all Metro participants are prepared to pass this examination. Metro was awarded Proctor of the year award from MECP in 1998!
Our hands on training consists of various installations of auto alarm systems (all major brands), remote car starts, cellular phones (programming and installation of phones), auto sound systems (radios, amps, CD players, equalizers, and speakers), mobile video (tv) and navigational systems. These installation procedures are done on mockups of vehicles and actual vehicles. It is important to remember that Metro is licensed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Education as a Private Vocational School. As such, State and Private financing is available for you, if qualified.
We have a network of over 275 stores waiting to hire Metro graduates through our Job Placement Department. We also have a successful job placement program.
